Victoria Massey

Massey was born in the Wirral on Merseyside, and now lives with her music teacher husband in Bedfordshire. She attended the Liverpool College of Art, studied book illustration at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts in London, and has an MA in Literature Studies. Her first job was with Sadlers Wells Theatre during it's heyday of opera and ballet, and while her children were growing up worked in advertising for Home Counties Newspapers while writing and illustrating serials for DC Thompson. Her first book One Child's War was serialised on BBC Woman's Hour, and published in hardback and paperback by BBC Publications. One Child’s War is now in Large Print, and is an audio-cassette by ISIS.

Massey's biography The First Lady Diana - Lady Diana Spencer, 1710-1735, concerns the ancestor and namesake of the late Diana Princess of Wales, adopted by her grandparents the first great Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, and was married to the fourth Duke of Bedford. The book is published in hardback and paperback by Alison and Busby.

Massey has just completed her MA in Life-Writing with the School of Literature and Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia, and is researching a new biography.
